La Cabanya

La Cabanya is an accommodation with more than 500 years and it belongs to the Can Xargay's house (a millennial farmhouse of the century XI named long ago Mas Bratlle). The building is built with the typical stone of the area, travertine.

What function did it have until the 20th century?

La Cabanya was used to store carts and farm tools that were used more often since the Can Xargay family was dedicated to the world of agriculture and farming.
The cobbled threshing floor (era) in front of La Cabanya, which was larger some years ago, was the center of activity. There, cereals such as wheat and barley, beans and chickpeas were beaten with effort and dedication.
The sound of animals and the murmur of conversations in the threshing floor were part of the daily landscape.

And nowadays?

Like all history, La Cabanya has also evolved and in 2007 we decided to give it a new life. So, we restored La Cabanya to adapt it as a holiday home but we wanted to preserve the rustic charm while using materials such as stone, iron and wood and providing the house with all the comforts that the modern era offers us.

And the most important thing is that, with you, the history continues!
